called to creativity

As a child attempting to be creative wasn't something I was ever excited about doing. I in fact just plain didn't do it. With the exception of crocheting and I enjoyed that. But that was about it.

As an adult, one day I saw a little ad in a magazine saying 'Can you draw me?' It was just a little picture of a bear. So, I decided to try. And to my great surprise, it turned out quite good!

So, my baby girl, Mercedes was in her little seat next to me and I thought that maybe I could draw her. I tried and I did it! It turned out pretty good for my very first time ever drawing a person. Unfortunately I can't seem to find that drawing.

  • What's your niche?
  • What is it you're called to create?
  • Are you already an active creative?

There are so many of us who don't have a clue. Who would never call themselves creative. But we all have a creative side of our brain.

After I began my drawing ventures, I decided to try my hand at watercolor. We have some very talented watercolorists in our family. My Uncle Milford was a famous watercolorist who traveled the world painting and teaching classes. You can find him online here and in many other spots. My Aunt Irene is also a very talented watercolorist.

About 30 years ago I had a spiritual crisis in my life that stopped all of my artistic ventures. (You can read about that here if you like.) But recently I've picked up the paints and brushes once again and am absolutely loving it!

This picture above is my most recent work.

My encouragement to you today is to just try it! Whatever it is that tugs at your heart. Maybe you want to write, draw, knit, sew ... or ...

Just take a chance and try. You'll likely be surprised at the outcome just like I was.

Always
